Hi everyone, FLD video tutorial #1 is to help people to create a simple yet comprehensive and easy-to-understand electrical load calculation table.

All you need is Microsoft Excel or simply a pen, paper and calculator. Before we begin, below are some of the formulas that you need to know:

Load (W) / 0.85 = Power (VA)
Power (VA) / Voltage (V) = Current (A)

Simple steps to draft/sketch 3D (Isometric)

Hi, I have used a very simple rectangular box as a sample. In this example, I will be drawing the isometric view from the left side of the box. The following steps are very good to take note of when you want to sketch/draft a 3D object on a 2D plane. This is the basics of how I arrive my 3D sketches and it is relatively accurately (to-scale). You can try this sketching out too! Refer to the below illustrations/steps:

1) Find the 'Infinity Point'

You can see from the picture there is 2 little circles. Those are picked as my 'infinity point' where the lines diverges from. This is also the guidelines for your edges. The lines in RED are the guidelines.

2) Locate the corners of a plane

After fixing the 'infinity point', you can now start to get the surface of the object. By drawing parallel guidelines from the infinity point, you can form a plane or surface of the object. The above image shows the guideline to sketch the top plane of a rectangular box.

3) Sketch the plane

Now you can sketch the plane by following the guidelines, after which, you can determine the height of the rectangular box. Above image shown the top plane and height of the box sketching in WHITE.

4) More guidelines to form all edges

After deciding the height, you can now draw more guidelines to form all the remaining edges/surfaces. As you can see from the image above, there are more red guidelines form the bottom surface of the box.

5) Complete the box

With all the guidelines, you can now complete sketching the box as shown in the above image.

6) Remove guildlines and create hidden edges

Finally, you remove the RED guidelines to see the box with all the edges. As we know some edges cannot be seen in practise, we can use a dotted line to tell others that those are hidden lines behind the opaque surface.

Data Centre 1 - SketchUp

I have earlier created a 3D model of a Data Centre which was used to present to the Project Manager. The PM was impressed and commented that they can now re-design the layout of the equipment after looking at the to-scale 3D model. A to-scale 3D model can be very helpful in deciding what to install/position within a given space. Below are some of the illustrations. Please share if you like this. Enjoy!

Sliding Door with Writing Glass

Below shows the design of a sliding door with writing glass on it. It works like an operable wall but is cheaper to fabricate. The door has top, bottom and sides as fabric panels while the middle pieces are writing glasses.

This is useful for office where there are meetings with many attendees. The rooms can be opened up joining into a single room. Having the sliding door closed will keep the 2 rooms separated and users can present on the writing glass as well. A trench is provided for users to keep their markers and dusters.

FLD-Design #1

I have just completed my first design order. It is with regards to the electrical design of a 2 storey factory building accompanied with new offices and meeting rooms. The layout plan of the building is provided. The consumer request for the design of an an easy and cost saving lighting and power layout.

The above were completed within 2 nights (after my day work). The consumer was rather satisfied and was impressed by the short duration of the time taken to draft!

Payment

Welcome to Freelance Drafting. We regret that the only mode of payment is by cash currently unless otherwise agreed.

Method of Payment
A 30% downpayment of the order sum shall be paid for the service to begin. The outstanding 70% of the order sum shall be paid upon satisfactory acceptance.

CAD file will only be issued to the consumer upon full payment. The details of the payment will be discussed during the confirmation of orders.

An order is deemed as 'CLOSED' upon receiving the full payment.


Pricing
All the prices stated below are in Singapore Dollars and it can vary with the level of complexity of each order.

1. Updating of the drawing
- This section is for the updating of the construction drawing, shop drawing as-built drawing and etc.
- The CAD version of the architectural and layout plan must be provided for each order. Otherwise, an additional fee shall be charged for the conversion to CAD version.
- The charges for the updating of each drawing shall be from S$100 onwards.

2. M&E Design
- This section is for the M&E designing of the office, home or industrial building.
- The CAD version of the architectural and layout plan must be provided for each order. Otherwise, an additional fee shall be charged for the conversion to CAD version.
- The charges for design of each M&E services complete with drawing shall be from S$200 onwards.

3. Elevation / Detail / Coordination Drawing
- This section is for the elevation drawing, detailing drawing, coordination drawing and etc.
- Hand sketch(es) is/are also accepted and will be converted to CAD version.
- The charges of each Elevation/Detail/Coordination drawing shall be between S$50 to S$200.

4. Converting sketch/photo/pdf to CAD version
- This section is for the conversion of any type of file into CAD version.
- The charges shall be reviewed on a case by case basis.

5. Cost Estimation
- This section is for the cost estimation of the projects, alterations & addition works or renovation works that you will be undergoing.
- A brief guideline specifying your expectations/requirements ought to be provided.
- A flat rate of S$1 per square metre shall be charged and capped at S$400

6. Simple Interior Design (ID)
- This section is for the simple interior designing of an office or a home.
- A brief guideline describing your expectations such as design theme, preferred colour should be provided.
- The charges shall be reviewed on a case by case basis.


Printing
A copy of the illustration, in the appropriate size, will be given to the consumer. If the consumer requests to have the illustrations printed out, refer to the below for the additional charges. All the prices stated below are in Singapore Dollars.

Q1: How long do you take to complete a specific order?
A1: It depends. Usually we can finish doing M&E design an office space (2000+sqm) provided with the layout plan within 3days. It is really case by case basis. Updating of drawing could be done within 1-2days. For more detailed duration of work, you may query us during the offer.

Q2: What are your charges?
A2: It depends. The price varies from as simple as updating of as-built drawing to creating the plan from sketches. It also varies with the scale of order. For more details, please refer to Payment.

Q3: What is the term of payment?
A3: 30% downpayment and 70% upon satisfactory result. Currently all payment can only be made through cash. For more details, please refer to Payment.

Q4: Do you include the CAD file in the package?
A4: Yes, however, the CAD file will only be sent after the complete payment. You will only receive the PDF file until then. For more details, please refer to our Terms & Condition.

Q5: How do we get our drawings?
A5: The drawings will be issued in PDF format (during confirmation) and CAD format (upon completion of full payment). If you require hard copy printing, please refer to Payment for more detail. We regret that there will not be delivery of hard copy drawing unless otherwise stated/agreed. Method of collection will be confirmed in the order.

Q6: Do you provide services out of Singapore?
